What is happening in the media and in the research journals?
April 2016: A few companies have proposed that companies should disclose their employee’s weights, glucose, cholesterol and other health measures to shareholders. It is an interesting way to report on wellness outcomes but what will shareholders do with this information? Will it have an impact and consequences for both shareholders and employees? And will it get companies to participate meaningfully in wellness initiatives, aiming to really improve employee health, or will they rather do the bare minimum in order to tick a box on a checklist?
What would you do if your employer asked you to climb on a scale so that the shareholders can determine how well the company is doing based on your weight?
